Shoot Overview
Location: Moser Building - 621 S. Plymouth Ct. Chicago IL 60605
Session Duration: 30 Minutes (includes time to select final image for retouching).
Rescheduling: Open up to 24 hours prior to your session. Use the reschedule link in your confirmation email.
Building Access: When you arrive to the Moser Building, buzz State Street Headshots. We kindly ask that you wait to be let up to the studio, as we wrap up the session before you.
Wardrobe Tips
Our eyes see things far differently than how a camera sees things. This makes headshots particularly challenging, outlined in The 5 Underrated Challenges of Corporate Headshots.
The following wardrobe tips are not a reflection of taste, but rather recommendations based on the effects of the camera and the proximity of a zoomed in headshot crop.
Session Logistics
The itinerary below allocates time to go over preferences, on-camera tips, run a practice round, review, run the real thing, while leaving time to filter, compare, and choose your new headshot.
Intro (5 mins): Review wardrobe options, answer questions, set thermostat.
Tidy Up (5 mins): Lint roll, oil wipe, hair, clean glasses, fix collars, etc. Hopefully you already trimmed your beard as per wardrobe tips.
Act I (2.5 mins): Practice round.
Review (2.5 mins): This is where the “a-ha” moments happen.
Act II (5 mins): With some practice and a chance to see how things are looking, the next round will be a breeze.
Act III (10 mins): The best part - image review! I will be help you filter and compare to pick out the best of the best.
